14 - 19 Diploma

SmartLIFE have developed a range of construction lessons/courses for the 14-19 Construction and Built Environment diploma.  These courses focus on Innovative methods of construction and aim to give the student as much practical experience as possible.

Courses run in 2008/2009 include.

• Tutor upskilling - a course to enable tutors to develop their skills in IMC and have the opportunity to construct timber and steel frame housing within the SmartLIFE centre.
• A 2-day programme for the 14-19 diploma students, - a course designed to enable the students to take part and develop skills in IMC, this includes the benefits of each system, the differences in construction and the opportunity to build timber, steel and concrete structures within the SmartLIFE centre.
• A day's enrichment trip to an IMC site, with the opportunity to have a guided tour around a 'live' site and see how the construction is managed in a professional construction environment.
