IMC Tutor Course

On the 6th and 7th July 2009, SmartLIFE hosted a training course especially for construction tutors in the Kent area to ensure they have the relevant skills in innovative methods of construction(IMC) to pass onto students in their local schools and FE colleges.

This two day event saw 13 construction tutors, including a head of construction, a plumbing and heating teacher and a wood occupation teacher take part in the construction of our 3 IMC frames within the practical space at SmartLIFE.

We wanted to ensure that the tutors gained a first hand training experience which enabled them to enthusiastically teach the benefits of IMC once back in the classroom - it was also fantastic CPD!
